Happy Holidays to all my darling prairie dogs!
Christmas has barely gone and so am I! The curtain came down on my holiday extravaganza at the Illusion Theater in Minneapolis and there was a bus ticket waiting for me back stage. Once again the ladies of the Esther Circle have emptied the church coffers at A Mighty Fortress Is Our God Lutheran Church in Richfield, my home congregation, and completely funded a one-way bus tour to Rehoboth Beach, DE, and New York City So I’m writing this correspondence on the cardboard of a Moon Pie. And I’m already eating a second one because I have so much to tell you! I’ll then phone in these wondeful musings to our Viola Oglevie, our church secretary, for posting on my website!
Now I’m going to be doing my holiday show in Rehoboth Beach on Monday, which will be exciting because Pamala Stanley is coming into the city early to see my show. I do enjoy her company and of course she relies so constantly! Darling Pam insists that I help her with voice technique and fashion advice.
My trip to NYC however is making me a bit anxious. Where do I begin ministering to those big city folk in that godless mecca they call home? I’ve already reserved my room at Manhattan Mini-Storage, so I’ll feel at home, but I will need to stay focused on this run in the Cutting Room in the Big Apple. Opening night will be Wednesday, New Year’s Eve, and the show will close on that same night. I like a one-night run, particularly after a long bus ride when I’m bloated and gassy.
Unfortunately the news of my travels came so suddenly after my Xmas show, that I did not have time to wash or iron clothes. Thank goodness that I had my no-wrinkly-everyday Bud Light sundress! That darling outfit gets many substantial looks, particularly when it produces a slight clanking sound when I walk down the street and an occasional crunch when I select my seat on the Greyhound.
It’s the perfect on-the-go attire, and I’ve learned to ignore the occasional chaffing and bleeding when I wear it on sub-zero days.
XO and one to the Birthday Boy (Jesus)!
